Mi hanno chiamata alle 2.20 di notte e cominciato a chiacchierare come se fosse pieno giorno.. metà in italiano e metà in inglese..non so di preciso cosa volessero perché gli ho sbattuto giù il telefono..non vi azzardate mai più!

Today was my fourth tour with Alessandro and his amazing Italian Days food team. This is by far the best thing you can do in Bologna if you want to immerse yourself in the culture and history of the special food from this region of Italy. You will experience amazing tastings and unexpected fun. Do not miss this special opportunity to make new friends in Bologna.

Words cannot describe how amazing our food tour was. Alessandro was an amazing tour guide, with humor and lots of knowledge peppering our factory tours. The balsamic stop felt like something out of a dream between the delicious balsamic vinegar and the welcoming nature of the family (including fresh figs from their trees). We ate so much delicious food (mostly prepared by Barbara) and we somehow still found room to eat it all. We also got to buy and take balsamic vinegar and parmigiano reggiano cheese home. This was the best part of our honeymoon in Italy. It is worth every penny and I would come back on this exact tour again if I could.

This was an OK tour. I guess I was expecting a lot for $300.00. We went on a Saturday and I really enjoyed the cheese factory, but clearly prosciutto factory is non- functioning on the weekends. With that said, our guy did an excellent job, guiding us through the building and explaining how everything works. The meal was delicious that they gave us at the last stop. The one improvement is, I would’ve loved to of heard more background of the towns that we were going through and even a little drive around those areas since that’s why I took the tour, I don’t have a car, so this was our way of exploring the area.

Literally writing this review on the bus ride back from the tour because I don’t want to forget to tell the world how INCREDIBLE THIS TOUR IS. I couldn’t have DREAMED of a better experience! Alessandro, Roberto, and Barbara were so kind, warm, funny, and knowledgeable about every single detail of the trip. You will eat and drink more fantastic, homemade, and local food and wine than you could imagine, learn about Emilia Romana, connect with others on the tour, and get a real taste of Italian hospitality and family. Every single penny was worth it 100 times over. If you spend your money on nothing else, spend it on this tour!!!

This is a perfect way to spend a day learning about the process and history of making Parmesan Reggiano, balsamic vinegar, and prosciutto. Alessandro is a wealth of knowledge and shares it with a sense of humor to make learning about it more enjoyable. The amount of food for breakfast and lunch will definitely leave you full hours beyond the tour! Everything is cooked fresh and tastes delicious and I true Italian fashion served with love. The atmosphere is fun and playful throughout lunch. Erica and Barbara were also a delight and Barbara’s culinary skills are fantastic. The creator of the tour is hilarious and also makes the entire lunch experience fun and memorable. This is a tour not to be missed!
